The big differentiator for us is the teachers who are loving and dedicated to the individual needs of their students. My son had a hard time transitioning to the school setting and they worked daily to form a bond and help him form bonds with other students over time. It meant everything to have teachers who never let him feel alone and always made sure to be very open with us about how things were progressing or not. Eventually he came home happy and excited to share stories about his day singing about planets and plants and reciting his numbers in French. Our daughter has been at Les Étoiles for two years, and I cannot imagine a better experience for her anywhere else. Yasmine, the director, is so loving and warm, I immediately felt comfortable and confident that our daughter would be well cared for. Before our first day, she shared lots of information about the curriculum, the staff, the schedule, the bilingual philosophy, everything. I felt that I knew the school well before we even stepped in the door. The staff has been amazing. My daughter talks about them like they are literal goddesses. Even when two of the teachers left for personal reasons, their replacement was so amazing, my daughter remained thrilled to go to school everyday. They serve wonderful real food for lunch that the kids all eat. My younger daughter is much less picky and willing to taste anything compared to my older daughter, which I attribute directly to the non-kid food she eats at Les Étoiles. We have so enjoyed being a part of the community of parents, teachers and kids. Our daughter has learned so much in school, but what I get most excited about is how she is learning how to learn. And on top of everything, when I speak to her in French, she understands me and responds! Even though we don’t teach our kids French at home. Bottom line, our older daughter went to two other day cares/nursery schools that I absolutely loved (and were significantly more expensive), and I would choose Les Étoiles over either of them by a wide margin. They treat each kid like their own, very responsive, and always gave me updates on my son especially when he first started attending the school. They helped me potty train him. This can be challenging when accommodating multiple age groups. My husband and I do not speak French, so we were happy for the exposure to the language (and loved hearing her sing in French!).
